FAQ

Do I have to identify as female to participate in WiSC events and activities?

No! Our events, initiatives and activities are open to everyone. Diversity and inclusion is not a one-sided conversation, and we believe that it’s important to include everyone of all gender-identities to participate!

How can I get involved with WiSC?

Attend our events as a general member, follow us on our social media platforms and sign up for our newsletter to be the first to hear about new opportunities, activities and initiatives!

I want to partner with WiSC! What should I do?

First, take a look at our Corporate Partnership Package! When you’re ready to reach out, email us at wisc@utmsu.ca using your organization’s email, and let us know what you have in mind!

What types of events does WiSC hold?

WiSC aims to hold events that have purpose. Each of our events can be categorized into one (or more) of the following categories: career advancement, community building, skill development, initiatives and guest appearances. As a result, we host technical workshops, networking and recruitment events, community engagement events, destressors, and so much more!

Is WiSC planning on holding any in-person events?

We abide by the University of Toronto’s guidelines for in-person gatherings in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic. If we do host any in-person events, they will be hybrid events, meaning they will be accessible online as well as in-person.

I have a question that’s not on this FAQ list. Where can I find an answer?
